Joe Biden’s claims that he has so far escaped being the recipient of President Donald Trump’s trademark verbal bombardments were undermined by Kentucky Representative James Comer’s recent statement. Comer is of the opinion that the former Vice President “does not deserve the benefit of the doubt” and that the amount of ‘gaffes’ Biden has made should be taken seriously.
Comer’s comments, which were detailed in a recent article, point to the fact that Biden has previously made several instances of gaffes without repercussion which highlights the potential scaremongering tactics employed by some elements of the Democratic Party. For instance, Biden has earlier asked the American public to cast their votes “to make sure Donald Trump is not returned to office” even though the U.S. President serves a maximum of two terms.
While a lot of the criticism towards the former Vice President is centered around his age, Comer’s statement highlights more than just the age factor. It calls into question Biden’s ability to be an effective leader given his propensity to lack accuracy and make the wrong kind of impact on policy.
Even though Comer himself has made some political gaffes of his own, his comments regarding Biden deserve attention.
